Takahashi SE-L Wooden Tripod (no mount)

This is a tall (SE-L) tripod, originally bought with an EM-200 mount.

Same as this one: https://www.takahashiamerica.com/tak...en-tripod.html. Vertical height from ground to base plate is 128cm (50.4")

I found it too tall for imaging use, but it's ideal for use with a refractor or Cassegrain scope where you want a really solid, non-telescopic tripod at a comfortable viewing height. The wooden legs are like tree trunks and really help with damping vibrations.

Technically this is designed for Takahashi EM-11 and EM-200 mounts which are very slightly wider than an EQ6. I have used an EQ6 compatible extension tube on this tripod and had no problems with fit, so it should fit a wide variety of mounts. I can get exact inside measurements if you need. (Conversely when I mounted the EM-200 on an EQ6 tripod, I had to open up the hole on the EQ6 tripod slightly for it to fit.

Condition is "OK", but some paint work has worn through normal use, and the spreader/tray is scratched. Could be painted if you can find some Takahashi green paint :-)

New, these cost $1,180 + shipping at AEC.

$350 ono

Pick-up from Putney 2112.
