Sun images from Melbourne 3/3/2022

After missing many days due to clouds we finally woke to a sunny and calm morning. It was nice to be able to capture AR2955 & 2954 before they disappear. AR2957 seems very complex and spreading and there has been added two more regions today, AR 2959 and 2960.

South east prominences taken using a 2.5x barlow. Not sure whether there is any real value from inverted images but we have noticed that several people post them. So we thought we would try a few images. It certainly gives a 3D type effect.

AR2957 is now a long string of spots. You can also see the new regions AR2959 and 2960 to the east of 2957.
