Tried the 10 inch Newtonian last night.
Heat was a bit high to be sitting fretting over a scope and balance was my main issue i think.
I was fighting with it all night, one half decent frame them a string of star trails, then a few good one then back to rubbish again.
Polar alignment was good, mount level, even the wind had died down to a very gentle breeze (rare for Perth), but still couldn't get much in the way of 2 minute subs so i settled for 60 second (even the 60 second subs were hit and miss)
Anyway after being out for 7 hours and 35 minutes i managed to get 2 hours and 24 minutes of somewhat dubious 1 and 2 minute unguided data.
.
NGC 3621 The Frame or Southern cross galaxy
8x1 minutes, plus 22x 2 minute 52 mins total
C77 Centaurus A galaxy 3x1 minutes test
Omega Centauri 61x 1 minutes
M83 galaxy the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy 21x 1minutes
.
Due to the heat all subs were taken at 0 degrees , which i don't have darks for yet, so no calibration frames were used at all , hence some images are cropped due to stacking and calibration artifacts.
