Jupiter this morning March 7th, 2007 in poor conditions

Although it was looking nice and still as I was collimating the scope this morning, it was all over in a matter of 10 mins.

The wind picked up and wisps of high cirrus began appearing. With the mirror at 2.5 degrees above ambient and seeing at around 3-4/10, it was always going to be tough.

So what I am posting looks more like a colour pallette of watercolours rather than an image but it's better than nothing I guess, and keeps the observing log for this Jove apparition ticking along.

Hope others had better results!

John K.

That image has an almost 3D look to it, you can see depth if you stare at it for awhile

Wow John, that's a stunner!!!

And you call that 'Bad seeing'?

Look at my Saturn from last night. That's Bad seeing, with the wind and thin cloud ripping through. I also took some ultra ultra close up Moon pics, and they are terrible.
