What to do with your old LandRover.

Went to a property west of Bundy on Saturday ...

Some of these still go ... believe it or not...

In my neighbourhood back in the 80's, we had 2 old Dudes who did similar. One guy put a 202 red motor in his Landrover. The other pulled out the 351 from his F100, and put a little Isuzu 4 cyl in it. Both were just rust bucket property runabouts.

They should have just swapped vehicles...

As it happens I'm just reading some of Len Beadell's books. From his description, sometimes his rover looked that beaten up after one of his expeditions . He often returned without springs and was a dab hand at leather bearings.

Some of those vehicles look as though they wouldn't be too bad to restore. The body is pretty straight on most of them and new mechanical parts can be bought. Of course I'm not volunteering to do the rubbing back. I've done just enough of that to understand that it's just not 'me' .
