The Wing Helmet thingy NGC2359 - Second Light

Hi Guys,

One of my fav objects is the Thor's Helmet NGC2359. Managed to capture this with the 350D unmodded last night. 12 x 8 minutes at ISO800 with the C10" F4.7. Used Baader MPCC + UHCS.

I'm pleased how it turned out in the end as I recall with my DSI experience, it looked like a snail.

Hope you guys like it.

I've always thought it looked like a snail, even visually

Good to see you imaging Thor's Helmet Eric.
Tracking seems spot on to me as the stars (especially evident with Red Giants) seem nice and round.
Nice fast scope you've got there!
I found it to be a very difficult target to image personally so well done!
cheers
frank

Very nice Eric, very nice indeed. It's good to see the return of the "imaging factory". I'm looking forward to the production line of images from the new set up.

Cheers

Dennis

Nice shot Eric, It has never looked like a snail to me, in a 16" scope it is great , in a 25"scope it is awesome , and in a 30" scope it is out of this world.
Look forward to more great images

Thats a nice deep shot especially for an unmodded camera. The green oxygen emissions are recorded very well.
