Welcome to IIS Sid. It's really simple to post an image, if you can take an image you should have the necessary skills to post it. I can't recall ever getting or needing any instruction but when you post if you press the Go Advanced button and scroll down to the Manage Attachments button, you will get the option to upload several attachments.

What's so hard Sid,

Go to manage attachments and browse to your image and upload.
The forum is not just about DSO imaging we like to think it's worth a lot more then just posting DSO images.

Hi Sid.

As the others have pointed out, when you post a new thread (or new reply), hit the "Manage Attachments" button and browse to the files from your computer.

Look forward to seeing your images.

There's hundreds of DSO images in the Deep Space section.. just go looking. The weather has ben bad all over Australia lately, so there hasn't been many posted in the last month.

From what I have read here I don't think anyone is called you that.
But I will call you impatient...............

Follow the above instructions , make sure your images are not 1k more than 150kb and all will be ok..........

Once you've browsed for the file on your computer (< 150k), click "upload", and then close the attachments window.

You'll see the file listed in the main window above the manage attachments button.

Then press submit.

Hi sid, in the forum listing, click on "Deep Space" to go to that sub-forum. You're currently in the "General Chat" subforum.

Start a new thread in Deep Space, and attach your image (and details) there.

Here's a direct link to the Deep Space section.

Is that what you mean by the Images section?

The "Images" link in the menu (on the left hand side) are my personal gallery images - that's why you won't find DSO images there
There's no site-wide gallery under the "Images" link at this stage - it's something planned for the future.

For now, all members post their images in the forum.

Sid, this forum's format is more complex and richer than that of the yahoo forums. Images don't have a specific section but rather are attached within a post as part of a thread, giving both the post and the image more relevance. If you do a search on M42 you will find heaps of M42 images taken by IIS members, many of which are of a very high standard.

Once you know the simple process Sid it is very easy.

The images on the yahoo groups get compressed way to much turning them in to small 30k files..not real good if you want to show high detailed hi rez images.

If your serious about posting hi rez images, go here and build your own web page its very basic with a tutorial and only takes 15 minutes if you can build your own guiding system I'm sure this will be a breeze.

http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...light=web+page

Once you have built your own web page all you have to do is provide the link to the image when you start a thread.
