My first Saturn for this season

Well... it's not much but it's a start.

The first image from a dozen avi's taken around 4am.

This is just a quick run through Registax to get an idea what might be lurking in amongst the "dirty dozen".

Taken with 9.25... ToUcam Pro II and 3x Televue Barlow. Bit grainy coz of too few frames stacked.

Would guess the seeing around 6/10. I'm happy I captured the red "collar" at the pole.

I'm off to bed

Hey Matt

That is a cracker of an image to open your Saturn account with, you're off to a flying start! Lots of nice detail and kudos to you for not over processing the image, given the small number of frames stacked. You must be happy with that one, and looking forward to the 2007 season!

Cheers

Dennis

The barrier is down and Matt bursts out of the gates

Great colour and banding detail Matt... and the red collar gets a big thumbs up WOnder how long this phenomenom hangs around, it's been there a few weeks now?

great start to the season and look forward to seeing the 4x in action on Saturn in the new year (if not before!).

cheers,

Thanks guys

I've stacked a few more frames to help smooth the image out a bit and placed it alongside the original, which is on the right.

It's not a huge difference but any improvement is worth the effort.

Can't wait to get out there again.
