Keyhole Nebula

Feels like a while since I've been on the boards! Entire month written off with the cyclone / floods etc.

Here's a photo I managed to finish last night. Star shape is a bit rough but it turned out nice enough generally. Might try again for sharper stars.

High Res :

64 x 2m Ha @ 1480mm / f6.3 / QHY9m using c9.25″ Edge HD + 21 x 1m Combined as LRGB with RGB @ 620mm / f2 / QHY12 using C11″ RASA. CGX Mount. Processing PI & Photoshop

Updated: Now 2 panel mosaic! High res here :

Star shapes aside (lower left is nice round/sharp) you've picked up some nice detail

Thanks Atmos! Now that you mentioned it the severity of the star distortion on the right hand side seems more like something the lepus f6.3 focal reducer is probably doing. Pity Celestron don't make an official one for my OTA size.

Not sure what my excuse is for the others, light wind maybe. I threw away about 15 wobbly subs. I was happy with how well I disguised them though using some PI tricks to make them round soft blobs instead of sharp angular lines.

colour and detail is really top notch Dylan.

The star issue could be tidied up with StarTools - the image is otherwise so nice that it might be worth getting a copy if you don't already have it. A lot cheaper than an optics upgrade.
