ISS over Perth (upcoming)

A belter of a pass for people living in the northern districts of Perth in a few days time....

The ISS will fly within a couple of degrees of the zenith at magnitude -3.8...

and, if you make the effort to position yourself on a line roughly defined by Lancelin, Bull's Brook, Gidgegannup (continuing south east)... you could with a little effort see (or image) the space station occulting Saturn.

Early morning on the first of April..

And no, this is not an April fools joke, so good luck dragging anyone out of bed for it.

Very cool, Clive: did you achieve any images?
(ISS occulting Saturn would be ultra-neat!)

No Dean, was happy enough to just wander outside in my dressing goon and watch it from the driveway.

It was different seeing Venus fly directly over head.. well, you know what I mean. Interesting quality of light, reminded me a bit of a TIG arc... Steady, graceful and silent.
