Do you mean the spiral arm of NGC6744 that reaches out to the companion galaxy NGC6744A, David?

90% me and 10% Geoff on a phone call. 100% of the mistakes with PI were mine and recklessly applied with gay abandon - WTF then fixed in PS.
I purchased the new Keller book from Bintel who got it to me the next day (great service). Well worth the money and its what got me going.
I will have to combine the 2016 data with that of 2015 and do a lot more on the galaxy as I have not done any sharpening or detail extraction at all and I know its in there.

Probably seen better in B/W and inverted

That outer string of stars is most interesting. I think I will need to put this galaxy on my list for imaging next year.

Hi Allan,

I really like this image, it has some great qualities.

There is something that bothers me about the image and that is the general colour, it is far too purple, IMHO. You, and others, may disagree, I did a small colour calibratrion and stuartion adjustment to demonstrate. Some stars are still too purple, it is hard with out the original data.

Please tell me to sod off if you wish, only trying to help you raise the bar.
