Alex Massey featured in Astronomy magazine

Just downloaded the la.test issue of Astronomy from the US and amid the usual stuff there was a lovely article about Alex and his sketches! Wonderful read about a lovely man and his work.

Thanks for the heads up, Malcolm!

I never imagined that I would have an article written about me in the magazine I most coveted as a kid. And not for photos but for using pencil and paper. I'm keen to read what's been written! I'm sure none of it is true...

Alex

This is really an unexpected Xmas prezzie

Thank you all for your kind words. Says a lot to me
Also says a lot about the publishers of Astronomy who see a wider interest in astro, some of it very quietly spoken. For all of you visual affeccionado, the sketchers and also thoseof you with just a casual interest in astro, this article is for you.

The journalist who wrote the piece is also a professional astronomer - neat little curio that one

I have to agree with the kind words that others have written about Alex and his sketching. All of them true Alex!

I am also the proud owner of one of his originals and more recently a collection of photographs of his originals, and the beneficiary of a number of lessons on how to sketch. Like anything new it takes time to master. Sadly I haven't put in the required time to improve my own skill.

Having just read the article I can't wait to get out under the stars. There are a number of things I'll check out for my own benefit.

Well done Alex!

Dimithri,

The article/magazine right now is in digital form. It is the February edition of the magazine.

The pages can't be posted here publicly due to copyright. You may like to get your hands on the hard copy, or subscribe to the mag.
