ASI1600mc Test on M12

hi to all I have a ASI1600MC and got out to have a test run the night before last on a almost full moon high above the horizon .
it was captured in Nebulosity 4 and comprises of 9 x 60s frames no darks no flats just a bit of pre processing in Nebulosity 4 and scope was GSO 10" Truss Newtonian Astro Graph .
Any comments good or bad are much appreciated

Doesn't seem to be any colour apart from a green/black background, has it been debayered? You have resolved it nicely though.

hi there Colin yes it seems that way I did debayer in Nebulosity 4 but the colour does not seem to come out much not sure what is going on there I captured in RAW the first thing I did was Demosaic + Square RAW colour
as I just wanted to see what the image was like stacked I did not subtract any darks or flats but still should have seen a bit more colour as you mentioned
maybe I should try capturing in Recon (RGB/Square) basically capture in colour not sure as it is a OSC camera but I have always catered in RAW on my older CCD camera and this is a CMOS could this make a difference

I had another go with this and changed the de bayering method to bin colour instead of Bilinear and I now seem to have a bit more colour in the image
with my Sbig I didn't need to do any of this but it seems to be a setting issue

I could be wrong but worth checking what bayer pattern you set when debayering this image. ASI1600MC has a bayer pattern of GRBG. While your Sbig most likely has a debayer pattern of RGGB. When the wrong pattern is selected youcan get weird colours, Worth a try anyway.

Hi Rex thank you for your input much appreciated I went down tonight and had a fiddle with the settings and set Nebulosity 4 in acquisition to Recon colour /quality I thought this would make massive files but they were only 24mb each so it has converted the colour on the fly and then all I had to do was stack them also played with the Gain and off set as well but I have colour now this is only a test image of Rasalhague a nice bright double star I didn't do anything special just 5 x 60s frames gain was set at 45 and off set at 15 no darks or flats .
I then pointed the scope at the Helix Nebular and set a 10s frame and focus and you could see the Helix quite clearly then did a 120s preview and and bang a nice colour image but when I ant to run a sequence the clouds rolled in
so I will have to wait but I feel as I get use to this Imager it has a lot of potential and is very sensitive and the cooling is extremely efficient I have been getting it down to -25 with ambient temp being 15 c and it holds it there at 20% power .
