First image in 6 months!!

Christmas lights, a crappy cloudy summer and a PS4 with Star Wars Battlefront from Santa equals no imaging, for ages!! I cant believe it had been such a long time.

Here's the Running Chicken nebula from this past new Moon. I wished I had rotated the camera 90° but I had already a night worth of data in this orientation so I just stuck with it. I cropped a small section off the left edge as it just contained stars making the image look unbalanced.

Imaged with the C11 Edge HD with .7x focal reducer (1960mm FL) F7.
Mount - CGEM DX
Canon 60Da @ ISO 800

Integration - 94 x 4 minute subs, 6.26 hours in total.

Calibrated with darks and flats, processed in Pixinsight.

Large click here

Thanks for looking

Cheers

Rod

Very nice Rod. I agree with Colin about those globules in particular - they are great!

Nice star colors. Not many RGB close ups on this one. The BOK do stand out.

Yeah, Thanks Marc, Colin and Pete! I was interested in how the Globules would come out.

Thanks Mike! Yeah it's good to be imaging again, gonna have a crack at Mars at opposition tomorrow night although I'm not much of a planetary photographer.

I did reach "Max rank" on Battlefront but it's sooooo addictive. I guess I'll just have to keep one eye on PHD2 and the other on the PS4.

Hi Rod.

I know your pain..I have managed just solitary imaging nights since July 2014!

Great looking photo...love the colours.

Where did you image from?

Ross.

Thanks Ross!

I took this one from home (Parklea). It's actually the longest total integration time I've achieved, over 6 hours. Also some of the best guiding I've had. I lost a lot of subs to high cirrus clouds but the 6+ hours seemed to be enough.
