M81-M82 galaxy group in Ursa Major

Hi folks,
My first image here:

Luminance from new site in Eastern Washington: Rimrock Meadows. RGB from Howard Miller Steel head Park in Rockport, WA
Unfortunately I had to toss a lot of subs out because they just weren't sharp enough. Eventually I averaged around 2.5 FWHM for the stack.
I tried to preserve as much detail and color in the galaxies whilst also revealing a bit of the IFN. I could have easily stretched it a lot more to show the IFN but that would have created a somewhat cartoonish look.

5 and 10 min subs Luminance:
4 hours total
RGB: 40 mins each channel (2 hours total: 5 min subs)

Equipment: TEC, AP, Moravian

Hope you like it!

Regards,
--Ram

Good detail, Ram. I agree that it's difficult to show the galaxies nicely and bring out the IFN as well.

Can you be more specific about the scope and camera?

Cheers,
Rick.

Hi Rick,
The scope is a TEC ADL300 astrograph. The camera is the new Moravian G3 16200 with Baader filters.
