Meade 12" LX200 carry case as seen in the attached photo. This is an online picture of exactly the same case. Mine just bears the marks of use and age.
I couldn't find an Australian site who sells these but did find a UK site at £146 and a US site at $199.95. I doubt I'd pay either of those prices plus postage...
The case dimensions by my tape measure are: L 104cm (41") X H 69cm (27") X W 50cm (19.5"). I don't know the weight but it's light when empty.
The case has the foam insert to take the Meade 12" LX200 OTA plus fork arms, base, finder scope and power pack. Has carrying handles. Has safely transported my LX200 many hundreds of kms.
Pick up is probably easier. However, I'm on the NSW Central Coast and can meet a buyer in Sydney's northern suburbs as I'm down there frequently. Happy to travel north to Newcastle for petrol money. Of course I'm very happy to post or courier anywhere at buyer's expense.
So a bit more research and a good inspection shows that the outer case is made to take the foam insert that comes in the box Meade sends your LX200 in. In other words if you have the foam at home already I can remove the outer case and send it to you and you can insert your own foam.
