Explore Scientific APO Field Flattener

I am offering for sale a brand new, unused, Explore Scientific 2" Field Flattener for Explore Scientific ED APO Telescopes. Item # FFEDAPO-00.

Designed for refracting telescopes, Explore Scientific’s Field Flattener resolves edge-of-field curvature. This Flattener offers fully multi-coated, edge-blackened optics and slides securely into the 2” eyepiece holder.
Optimized to work with Explore Scientific's f/6 - f/7 ED Apo refractor telescopes. Features a standard 2" nosepiece (with M48 filter threads) on the telescope side and a male T / T2 thread on the camera side. Does not come with end caps.

Important Note: The working distance of this flattener is 45mm. Hence, this item is designed to work directly with most astronomical CCD cameras (from companies like SBIG, FLI, Apogee, QSI, ATIK, etc.) that have a female T thread for attachment to a telescope. It would require a low profile bayonet attachment to use with a DSLR given the standard backspace requirement.

Specifications
  • Total length = 1.87" / 47.5mm
  • Length of male T thread = 0.17" / 4.2mm (threads only); 0.21" / 5.4mm (thread with shoulder)
  • Optical length (assuming nosepiece and T threads are fully engaged) = 0.44" / 11.1mm
  • Working distance = 1.77" / 45mm
  • Length of 2" nosepiece = 1.22" / 31mm
  • Maximum width = 2.08" / 52.9mm
  • Weight = 4.3oz
I had purchased this Flattener a couple of years ago with the aim of using it with my APO but actually forgot about it until I did an inventory of stuff that I had. I don't need it but perhaps you do.

They can be purchased new from USA sources for $100USD plus international shipping. I believe i paid the original price of $149 USD, not that it matters now. I am asking $75 AUD for this unused Flattener, and $10 for shipping anywhere in Australia. Local pickup is available obviously.

PM me here if interested. Thanks for looking.
