Lmc

hello members and happy new year
spent NY at friends place near capel, moonrise at 11:30 but managed to expose the LMC:
60da canon 85mm f1.2 (not sure what it was stopped down to) 42 90s 800iso, the SW startracker mount
although i gained a lot more exposure time in capel than mundaring....... i am not sure if i like it more!
i will put both in
also i am not certain if i had my 60da switched to "astro" mode....... oh well!

Nice job Pat. It's interesting to compare my recent effort with yours. I note that we both have a gradient from top left to bottom right of the
image. Yours is just starting to show some of the Ha regions, no doubt
due to yours being the 60da, and double the ISO.

It's pretty good, but I personally think it could be improved further by
quietening down the core a bit; in DSS just bring the bottom luminance slider down to your taste from the default 50.

Really nice image Pat, spot on.

City lights prevent me getting this one, I will have to go on a field trip some time!
