Just had to pay my two year licence fee for the lasers I use for building spectroscopes......
$186.60
Certainly not cheap!

The biyearly fee ensures that one remembers how to safely use laser pointers...

Shame on you Slawomir. Are you suggesting the authorities are only interested in the fees??

I thought you only needed a licence for laser pointers (ie a hand held battery operated laser >1mw) and all other types of laser devices are excempt from legislation?

Coming back from the UK with the laser pointers, they were all held by Customs until I obtained a license.

You should just import the laser modules and add your own power supply etc. Modules on their own are not a restricted import.
This site is in the UK and it only takes a week or so to get your parts, not the cheapest place but good service. http://odicforce.com/

Every state is different.
Check with the police before assuming carrying a laser is OK.

That's why I "highlighted" NSW.... for "ALL"
for "all" of those in NSW who might be interested.

As mentioned before; Always check within your own state
