This is first "remote" light for my system finally got the balls up to open the roof from Sydney and image. it is only 30 mins of lum, there are a few issues that need to be addressed so there was no point getting any more.
1) i have struggled to get good flats so i will have to take some with my light box when i am down next time. you can probably see a little gradient in the image. i want to build one into the observatory so i can take good flats any time.
2) this one will probably content for the dumbest thing i have done thread ... but i cant quite reach focus. i get the closest with the clear filter but i need to add a spacer so i can get into sharp focus.
3) i am yet to run PEC on my mount which should help the tracking but it was not bad for first attempt, also i could refine the PA a bit
anyway, feedback is welcome but be gentle on me, it has been a long hall to get here
If it makes you feel better, this is a 7x400 from two nights ago when I was wanting to see if it was worthwhile even imaging it more. Decided against it
I guess if nothing else, it is great that you got it imaging remotely without a hitch! Once you get some of the issues that you already know about dealt with, you'll be churning out some good stuff

well, we are not known for that - but the image quality does not matter so much in this case, it's how you got it that matters. Congratulations.
Thanks Ray, i am looking forward to some better results

The journey is half the fun, thanks for making us a part of it.
Thanks George, even though i have had my fair share of frustrations, troubleshooting and resolving them has been fun. yesterday i did a 4 hour round trip to fix my focuser (turns out the JMI motorfocuser was not rotating the focuser out, it was just spinning) i also managed to fix a slight issue with the roof, take some flats with my light box and record my PEC.
Good start , you didnt mention the scope you were using. Ive been experimenting with a little SW ED65 , heres my effort 2 nights ago on NGC300. 15x 5min subs . Its a bit small but on enlarging you can start to see the shape.

Nice one !, i assume you are using a DSLR? if so, dithering might help with the background colour mottle (feel free to ignore the advice of this noob though). i was using a GSO f4 10" newt, hopefully next one will hae tighter focus on the stars.

No , a celestron 10.7Mp nightscape , a very noisy CCD camera. Gets pretty pictures with lots of subs and post treatment with PS ,which I'm still a novice with. The 65 mm skywatcher Ed is not the best telescope for galaxies , I'm going to use it on wide field nebula pictures .Good luck with the focussing next time.

sounds good, the focusing issue has been fixed but i dont think i will get the tight stars i am looking for until i upgrade my scope
