Marcus Strom reports today in the Sydney Morning Herald that the
Solar Dynamics Observatory has captured images of another massive
plasma tornado on the surface of the Sun which took place between
September 1st and 3rd this year.

Professor Iver Cairns, a solar physicist at the University of Sydney, told Fairfax Media that the plume of iron particles would be in the order of up to 70,000 kilometres high, about five times the diameter of the Earth.
