Yoda with 19 hours H-alpha
There are at least 12 Herbig-Haro objects, studded along two separate jets, in the region of Yoda's Walking Stick in Corona Australis.
See here for a learned ESO article with many diagrams.
A magnificent shot of just part of the region of interest from the ESO La Silla 8.2 metre scope is
here .
Really wanting to see these, grit free, we added 19 hours of 3nM H-alpha to our existing colour shot (4.5hrs L, 2.5 hrs each RGB).
Adding the H-alpha as luminance was counter-productive, because it tends to exclude the wonderful blue reflection nebulosity and any OIII emission.
Consequently we added it in as red, with equal weighting to the rest of the red channel. We can now see most of the dozen or so labelled objects in the ESO article as intense red splotches or streaks.

Very cool, M&T! I expect the Ha by itself would make a very interesting image too?
Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks, Rick. We'll try to get round to producing a labelled H-alpha crop of the best bits.

I have just posted an explanation on a technique to blend NB and RGB data together avoiding the issues you mention, give it a try and see if it works for you

Thanks, Marco. That's very generous. Your step six looks tricky. Hearty congratulations on your APOD.

SILENT TEFLON!
Yep, it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO noise free and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO smooth.
Magnificent. I don't often go as far as magnificent, but this is entirely worthy of such an accolade.

Terrific Mike and Trish! I don't think I've seen this region so vibrant before.

Thank you, Lewis. Lovely metaphor too. We are much encouraged.

Thank you! 'tis interesting to think how seemingly quiet bits of sky are actually violently active, and up to no good.
