First captures for a while

Managed to get out last night and capture M83 and the Tarantula nebula using my SW 120ED with x0.8 focal reducer and celestron nightscape camera. I think the edge of the OAG prism is intruding with the focal reducer giving a dark gradient to the right, cropped it out for M83 but not the tarantula..Will try to get newer flats! details are m83 20 x 3min subs and tarantula 31 x 3min subs ( with flats darks biases).

pretty nice work there,
some more data would smooth at the M83 background a bit but nice detail nonetheless. im not sure what the dark patch is to the right in tarantula could well be the OAG prism as you say.

Cheers

Russ
