Attach camera to mount

Hello all,
I've got a spare dovetail plate and I thought it would be useful for me if I could attach my camera straight to the plate. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? I've been thinking that perhaps I could get a longer screw with the same thread that goes into the camera and just sort of screw it to the mount. If anyone has done anything like this where did you get the stuff? Note I do not plan on having the telescope on the mount at this time.

regards
Daniel

Hi Daniel, buy a swivel ball head from your nearest camera shop, or on
ebay, not expensive. bolt it to your dovetail plate using the existing hole
in the plate. Your camera screws onto the top of the swivel ball so you can point your camera anywhere in the sky regardless of where the mount is pointing.

Thanks Raymo,
That is very good advice! I'll give it a shot. Again thank you very much for suggesting it.
