Polarex / Unitron 4 in. scope.

Early 1950's Polarax 4 in. classic long tube refractor telesscope.
Polarex 132, which is the equivalent of the Unitron 152.
D.102mm / FL 1500mm.
Complete with Equatorial mounting and slow motion controls for both declination and R.A., setting circles, tripod with levels, tripod shelf, 10x42mm viewfinder, super rack and pinion focusing mechanism with clamps.
Includes the 60mm / 700mm guide scope.
Lens is in mint condition.
All in excellent working order.
The tube does have minor scratches and will make an excellent refurbishment project.
Comes with 1.25in. 40mm Unitron eyepiece.
Star test very well with minimal CA.
Makes for an excellent planetary and double star telescope.
This telescope was formerly owned by L.A.C. Warner President of the NZ Astronomical Society 1958-59 and Curator of the Auckland Observatory where it was used for public viewings of the night sky in the 1950's and 60's.
Comes with an astronomy book by Warner featuring the telescope.
This is a historic and highly collectible refractor that will only go up in price.
This telescope is currently located in Hamilton, New Zealand but I can ship to Australia in custom wooden box. It is heavy at around 60 Kgs.
This scope was acquired as a long term project however due to family commitments it is now for sale.
[I will place more photos shortly].
$5000 Australian.
