A couple of comets & a galaxy.

Hi,

From last night.

Comet C/2014 Q2 (Lovejoy) and C/2012 K1 PanSTARRS with NGC 55.

Lovejoy looks fantastic, easily eye balled in the 8 x 50 finder.
Spent a bit of time processing to bring out the ion tail.

Panstarrs conveniently placed with NGC 55 one degree apart, another opportunity tonight too.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Dunk!

We've really been spoiled with comets this year.

Cheers,

Beautiful, Justin. The best Lovejoy image I've seen so far. Lovely colours and detail in the tail.

Worth spending time processing when they have decent tail.

Cheers,

Justin.

The NGC 55 shot is very cool Justin

Was looking at that last night too through the 12" F5, didn't know the comet was so near to it..?

Two amazing photos Justin!

You inspired me to go out last night with binoculars and I found Comet Lovejoy despite the dirty, polluted Sydney skies.

Thanks.

Ross.

Thanks Ross!

It's good to eyeball them occasionally.
Don't do it enough when I'm imaging.

Hi Andrew!

I used ISO 6400, 2 minute subs.
Might be too much from burbs.
