White dwarfs

OK, I've seen the local red dwarf, now I want to see a white one Are there any to be seen with an 8"?

Sirius B, The Pup. I think the one in the center of M57 is too dim (mag 15 or 16 )

thanks guys. The ring neb one is too dim, spent a good half hour trying to spot it a few nights ago without success.

Now I'll just go through ving's list to find the bright ones =)

ooh, found one in wikipedia - Van Maanen's Star in Pisces, aka HIP3829, 14.4ly away, mag 12.4

The companion to Omicron2 Eridani (40 Eridani) is possibly the easiest white dwarf to observe. It is a cinch with a 120 refractor.

The white dwarf itself is also a double being orbited by a red dwarf (which I have yet to see).
