NGC 6523 or M8 the Hour Glass Nebula

Hello,
The HourGlass, a combination of 2 shots of 604 seconds durations, one at ISO 1600, the other at 800. i was shooting heaps at 800 but the clouds and then the fog moved in and ruined them all except for that one .
cheers
frank

That's a damn fine shot Frank. Not overprocessed, good colour, maybe just a little bit "foggy" but not so that it detracts from the image in any way. An image to be rightly happy with. Excellent shootin'

Thanks for the feedback.
I didnt spend much time processing it...I was WAYYYY too tired last night but wanted to finish and post.
could have benefitted from some more exposures stacked including some shorter duration ones i think but i'm happy enough with it.

Nebulae like this one make me wish I had just just a tiny little bit more FOV to capture it all.

Frank are you using a Focal Reducer? If not it would definately be a consideration.

Given that it says F6.3, I would imagine so. Nice shot too.

I need to read the image captions more often and not get lost in the image itself Thanks for being gentle Gary

Thats a great shot Frank.

I am interesting in how you do your calibration processing when using different ISO's.

Tony,
calibration....
take the shot, use noise control on the 20Da,
often just autolevels then noiseware
sometimes i play with the levels myself.
that's it...
I'm doing almost everything wrong and still turn out with images I'm not too ashamed of!
imagine when I know what I'm doing! It'll be great!
