Very sad news, what a wonderful man he was, I last spoke to him at "Speed on Tweed" a few years back. He was chatting to all the kids about his cars and career.

Only thinking about him on Saturday afternoon when I re-watched
John Frankenheimer's 1996 movie "Grand Prix".

Brabham makes a few cameos in it including where they depict him
overtaking a Ferrari on the outside of a curve at Spa.

The attrition rate of F1 drivers in those days was so appalling that it was
an achievement in itself just to survive to a ripe old age.

One of the all time greatest drivers.

RIP Sir Jack.

I was lucky enough to be at a dinner where he was the guest speaker a couple of years back, most of his stories just left me thinking he was the typical Aussie larrikin racer. A sad loss to motorsport.

I met and talked to Sir Jack at what was I think the last race day of the
Surfers Paradise Raceway before it was sold to the Japanese so they could play golf in silence next door.
Sir Jack was an engaging person, easy to talk too and was quite happy to have photo's taken with anyone that asked.
I have one somewhere as well as his Autograph, but where I don't know
RIP Sir Jack.
Cheers
