Cheap red light astro torch!

Grabbed one of these for $5: http://www.bunnings.com.au/arlec-9-l...eries_p4410346

I had some Tamiya clear red paint from my models (retails for around $3.50-$4). Colour X-7: http://www.modelcars.com/model-kit/t...3ml-bottle.jpg

Applied between 5-7 coats of the paint and done! You can add more if you wish.

I got an Eveready 2-D cell aluminium torch in one of Woolworth's dicsount bins for $3. I had at home clear red aerosol lacquer (fake anodising - Barry use it with his Iron Man suits). EXTREMELLY durable. 4 coats gave me a nice dull but still useable red, duller than some of the wholesale red torches I have had blindingly shone at me.
