More data for M83

Still nowhere near as good as Carl's and Jo's, but here's my next iteration of M83.

I wasn't really capturing it for the sake of doing so, but rather to do a test comparing in-camera dark frame subtraction to darks applied in post processing, to no darks (interestingly, I couldn't see a difference between when darks--in camera or otherwise--were used, or not). Because of that, I have two sets of data that don't align very well, leaving me with very limited resolution, thus the extreme crop.

I'm still unable to do exposures for more than 30 secs, as I can't get my CCD to work and the intervalometer I ordered almost a month ago still hasn't arrived. But I guess that's a whole other story...

I like your work. M83 is full of detail and good color.
Are you using barlow ?

I made some more tweaks to this as the processing left some dark halos around the stars, but I'll not bother uploading that, I'll wait until I get my CCD fixed/replaced and can do some decent exposures.

I've not used a barlow, that was taken with a Nikon D5100 + Skywatcher BD ED80 (600mm FL) and cropped severely.

I have done a lot of imaging at 30 seconds timer remotes are a pain to wait for to arrive in the mail!

Lee, it looks good for short subs and your processing of the colour is real nice. Keep it up

Thanks Marios :-) That's just over an hour in total, but as above, only 30s exposures so I could have done better with longer exposures but fewer frames.
