Editing post wipes out original text

I tried to edit a classified post but the message disappeared. I then changed the heading only but it says "message too short" and doesn't save.

I find if a post contains any non-ASCII characters (like the degree glyph) then Firefox will not display the message text when I try to edit or quote it.
You also can not post a reply which only contains a quote.

Can't you copy the text before clicking edit and then paste it in?
I know this isn't a fix, but will let you get the job done for now.

It worked fine on my phone later on. Maybe it's the stupid new version of IE that caused it.
