flame neb

flame neb in orion, this is the first time i have seriously looked at this object and i do like it (the object) the pic is ok more info obviously would help naturally
25 lights 120s@1000, same darks and flats processed in dss only, i have PS but cannot get my head around it all

thanks too rick......... i have played around in PS but the problem is i do not know where to start
if i put the raw DSS into PS i cannot get a decent dark background
i have tried some of the you tube tutes but i still get a little lost!
onward and upward i suppose ha ha!

by the way would really like to know what jo did to tease out the extra details there

First I turned down the saturation of the green channel (to get rid of the green cast) and a little on the red as well. Then I lowered the black point (lightens the image a bit so that the corners aren't black) and then brushed a bit of contrast in the middle to even it out (the middle was brighter than the edges) and then added a bit of definition to bring out some more details.

So really all I did was try and get rid of the green cast, try and fix the vignetting, and bring out a few more details.
