First try

A bit late, as I'm nearing 80, but here is my first attempt at a digital
image.
Single exposure 30secs.
ISO 6400
Noise reduction enabled
unmodded 1100D
Didn't worry about composition or burning out the trapezium area.

Hi Raymo,

You have done a great job for 30 seconds. What scope were you using? First digital at 80 well done for getting out there and giving it a shot.

Damn fine image for a single 30 second shot Ray. Keep at it, you're doing great! And glad you got the image uploading thing sorted out.

Good work Raymo!

How are you getting along processing images in DSS ?

BTW, never too late to enjoy a hobby.

Cheers,

Justin.

Hi Justin, I took a series of 10-15 and 20sec exposures and got the DSS
routine working o.k. but the end result was almost black and white; like
another chap that posted on IIS recently. He was advised that he should
stretch the image in a different program, but I have no idea what that
means. I've had an old version of PS for years, so I've bought a book
on how to use it, and am practicing with it. Very daunting.
