Best website making software

I need to update my business website and was thinking of doing it myself.
Any tips on the best do it yourself type website making software or books or sites that outline the most optimum way to make a business website effective.

I don't do online selling just promoting my roofing business.

Greg.

I'm in the process of building a website for the astronomical spectroscopy group
http://astronomicalspectroscopy.com/

I ended up with Dreamweaver for the design and construction....
I also found "Creating Web Pages Simplified" by Mike Wooldridge & Brianna Stuart very easy to understand, follow through and has some great ideas.

Sounds like a fun project Greg, if you've got the time. I kind of work on the principle that if it ain't your core business, get someone who's core business is web development to do it. Its a business site, so just write it off on tax.
If you still want to do it and in need of ideas you might want to check out http://www.templatemonster.com/. They also do custom development if desired.

Hi Greg,

Try Wordpress (free) - lots of templates to choose from, don't need any programming skills. Perfect for just promoting your business.

Cheers,

Norm
