It looks good. Time slot for WA sucks a bit though, amusing it is actually simulcast.

Oh well, just observe until it comes on

The 24th is Sunday, Dunk. Besides, who cares if something upsets X-factor groupies? Those unreality "talent" shows are a PVR owner's nightmare since they never finish on time.

But back in Blighty, it's the 23rd, a Saturday

Doctor Who has been on at that time since I was a kid

I can't bring myself to watch broadcast television any more, too much drivel and too many advertisements... so I'm really glad Peter posted this...calendar set

Hey Dunk, You will need to check that time closer to the date, as who knows what ABC will do. They may just put it on iView, or something, and show it at a later time.

But, if simulcast, then a late night it will be! Can't wait.

I wouldn't have known either if I hadn't read it on CNet Australia website. I don't watch much broadcast TV as most of it is rubbish, like the aforementioned [SU]X Factor

I usually only watch DVD's or Bluray movies, that way I don't have to watch ads.

Hopefully I can get to see this but I'm not holding my breath. Supposedly we are getting new Internet Monday and if it goes to plan then maybe we can watch it. Interestingly we are I London for a couple of days and last night they had a Brian Cox lecture on the science of Dr Who which was basically a lecture on time and time travel.

Was great,very enjoyable-was an outstanding scene with Tom Baker,totally enjoyed that.

Would liked to have seen Martha in her black and maroon leather gear-she would have looked great in the tower with that outfit in the dungeon-very Domme.

A fantastic episode, got up early watch that one.

It was also great to see Tom Baker get a cameo appearance.

Hopefully the Christmas special wont be too far off.

The "Day of the Doctor" was re-broadcast on Sunday at 7:30 PM using three doctors in a time-splitting episode and the cameo with Tom Baker. No doubt it will be screened again sometime.

It was followed by "Adventure in Time and Space". This was the story of the Precarious start to the Doctor Who series "An Unearthly Child" in 1963 with William Hartnell in the main roll produced by Verity Lambert and directed by Waris Hussein. Its original aim was a fill in between sports programs and keep the audience watching and was almost killed after four episodes

The second story written by Terry Nation was the story that introduced the Daleks and against all forecasts it was an instant success cementing the series until William Hartnell retired due to ill health four years later and Patrick Troughton was introduced as the first regeneration.

I have 128 episodes of the first Doctor but there are some missing episodes that were missing for nearly 50 years. These have since been located and the first series will be completed {I hope)

The parts played by the actors in this "Special" were brilliantly made up to look like the original cast especially the doctor who was a dead ringer for William Hartnell who died in 1975.

I think I went in expecting a bit too much given the quality of the lead up done by Paul McGann. While the storyline held lots of promise once again Matt Smiths dreadful overacting let the whole show down. Tennant did well and the great Cameo appearance by Tom Baker topped them all. The next Doctor,Peter Capaldi,puts in a split second appearance where you just see his eyes which was well thought out. Interestingly Eccleston did not appear which was disappointing and his role has been subverted/diminished by the new "War Doctor" Hurt for the sake of modifying the whole shows direction because it was originally cast that Eccleston fought in the time war. To be fair to Matt Smith, while I feel he is a poorly chosen person for the role, a lot of problems have to do with many of the last couple of seasons poorly done scripts. So here's hoping that Peter Capaldi can bring the show back to the glory days and potential shown by previous Doctors portrayed by Tennant, McGann, Eccleston, Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee

It was great to see that after all these years, Tom Baker was still undeniably "The doctor" All those little mannerisms were still there.

I am not going to get myself tied up in knots about which incarnation did what (Time war etc) I just treated it as a stand alone. I did like the oblique references to the weeping angels in there to wind the tension up a bit even if they played no part in proceedings. I still reckon Blink is the best Dr Who episode ever made, followed by Midnight.

I actually do not mind Matt Smith as a Doctor, you can not really blame him if you reckon the part was a bit hammed up or over acted, to a large extent he can only do what the script and direction say.
