Organising Shipping from Taree or Tuncurry

I have had my mirror recoated by Wayne Sainty while I was overseas recently.
Unfortunately Wayne is having trouble organising to ship it back to me as he usually uses Aus Post and the package is over their weight limit.

He has tried to ring Startrack, DHL etc and they will not ship if he doesn't have an account.

Any ideas on the best way to organise this. It needs to be back here by next Thursday at the latest.

Cheers

Malcolm

Hi,

Try Fastway Couriers, insurance is included, they specialize in shipping for occasional eBay purchasers.

I've usually couriered bulkier astro items via Couriers Please, who are very friendly with one-off deliveries. They're apparently willing to send packages weighing over 25 kg, but it'll cost extra.

Tried Pack n Send? I sent a 28 kg CGEM recently - no issues. Cost $80 in post to an obscure suburb.

Mal, have you tried e-go.com.au? They pick up & deliver door to door Australia wide. They also offer discounts if pick up &/or delivery is done at one of their depots.

+1 They have depots at Taree and Geelong. Depot to depot saves 50% of the cost.

Thanks for the ideas guys
The E-go website quotes 6-7 days time frame, which is too long.

I have decided to ask Wayne to drop it into the Pack and Send at Newcastle (he offered to drive there) and get it delivered to my brothers office in Melbourne. I can then drive there to pick it up. Should be OK!!

Malcolm,
Sounds like you have a plan...
I would give E-go my vote as well - they have proved to be very cost effective in shipping larger items across Oz.
