Astronomy-themed Pet Names :)
We had a nice discussion on
Facebook recently about those of us who name our pets after our hobby
I thought it'd be nice to start the same discussion here, for those who aren't members of Facebook.
Tell us about your astro/science-named pets etc
My dogs name is 'Astro'

The dog is called PooFactory.
The Mrs calls it Molly.
No science connection, but perhaps a bit of strain relief.
Regards,

My two kitties: Starex Bellatrix Carina and Starex Rigel Kentaurus. Bella and Rigel, for short. Starex was the name of the cattery.

Not exactly astronomy related but thought I'd share my pet Funnel Web...
Had her for about 3 months now, called her Viii, roman numeral for 8 (pronounced Vy). I've kept spiders for a few years now, but she is by far the most aggressive I've ever had.
I take her out to Featherdale Wildlife park for regular milking to make antivenin.

As a kid I had a dog named Sputnik, his favourite passtime was to grab the leg of your trousers and circle , hence the name.
Not exactly pets but HRH has also named trees in the yard after some of the Seven Sisters. We have Atlas, Pleione, Taygeta, Alcyone and Sterope, Unfortunately Merope and Maiai didn't survive their early years (perhaps re-ascended to the heavens); Alcyone now occupies the spot previously occupied by them. I almost forgot we have 2 Lily Pillys in pots, Castor & Pollux....

In the late 80's I owned a cat named Astro.
The family's current dog is call Major, for Canis Major.
One of our ratties was called Pixel. Not really astronomical, but as I'm into imaging, I thought it appropriate.
