One of those nights when everything went well. Set up in a lovely afternoon, lovely and warm, clear skies and a hint of a breeze. Got dark and started testing the camera (qHY8 with a 50mm Nikon lens on an EQ8). Just a test shot to see what the frame was like. Few more shts before I realized I hadn't aligned or focused ! but hey, I had fluked it
didn't need to touch anything, four minute unguided subs
(spent the rest of the night being careful not to knock anything).
Downloaded NGTyson's Great Courses lecture series and watched it while the exposure series were taking themselves.
Waiting for Orion to come up now while doing the LMC. The series look promising, just need to master the processing to see if I can get something out of them.
