DVD Burning Problems

Hi Guys, just a question about my video making software and/or my DVD drive.

For quite some time now i have been producing short videos of our travels and other things.

I use Photo DVD Maker Pro, and it has been working very well with great results.

However just of late it has decided not to finalize the burning of the movie that i have created.

Putting it all together is fine, and when it gets to the point that i have to click the burning process it just shuts down, freezes the screen sometimes, and comes up with strange error readings, like there is no disc in the drive when actually there is, or you have the wrong type of disc in the drive, which i don't.

Anyway is there a sure way of testing the drive to see if it faulty or could the burning part of the procedure be corrupt.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Leon

Burning DVDs is easy, I think you just need a hotter fire.

Is it a laptop DVD, you could try ejecting the caddy and giving the lens a clean.

Some burners can be picky with DVD+R or DVD-R blanks. The + and - are similar but different standards.

Check to see if your previous successful burns was a + or -

In my opinion I think it is most likely with the drive and not the software.

As stated below try and use another DVD drive if you can get access to one with the same software.

I have a weird problem with my drive where it would burn fine but with some discs it cannot read them at all. I put the same disc in my MacBook and it can be read fine so in my situation the disc is fine and my drive is stuffed.

Was going to purchase another one since they are only $30 and use that one for burning since my main drive is a Blu-Ray one.
