Eastern Clavius, Rutherford, Clavius D & Porter

The seeing was attrocious in Melbourne last night so no go for Jupiter, the only thing I could manage after watching the soccer was a 4/10 seeing Moon for my second go with the 900.

100 Frames simply stacked and processed in Registax taken with a 12.5" and 5 x Powermate.

The 900 continues to impress and cannot wait for better seeing.

John.

I love the detail in Rutherford and the fluted, slumped walls of Clavius. Superb image.

Cheers

Good one John! Nice and sharp (considering the seeing) and good exposure.

thanks guys, I still absolutely love the moon, it's a great object to image, and as Robert said it's the next best thing from being there (well we can still dream about it).
The lighting for this shot was ideal and the terraced rising walls of Rutherford really create a 3D effect despite the average seeing. Should have really taken some shots of the surroundings and did a composite.
