For sale EQ6pro with case and specialist tripod

For sale EQ6pro with case and specialist tripod

Yes that right folks a specialist tripod – the Velcro is for free.

Selling the EQ6 with a hard carry case and upgradeable controller. It has the dual vixen losmandy d plate adapter. Comes with the standard 2 counterweights

I have bought but not installed an complete upgrade kit for this mount. Its there ready to go.

Total price $1050.00 not including shipping. I would prefer someone to pick it up in Newcastle /lower hunter region

As seen here in action at astrofest. – does not include gps or scopes and other guff

Can deliver on way to astrofest within reason or at Astrofest?

edit - price dropped

Sorry but to the ill informed, what is a complete upgrade kit? Would it be hard for a newbie to install and retune the mount?

Is the hardcase one of those pelican like cases?

Regards,
Paul

Dave, do you think this little fragile flower would be able to lift the mount?
I do feel that my new scope requires a more robust mount.

Well petal, I dare say that on a good day you could and on a bad day maybe phone a friend? Not sure JJJ it is 18kg for the head, but that’s only 6 more than the heqpro5. Talk to your conscience

You could lift it no dramas, I used to carry mine outside with the counterweight attached and I'm a weed. It is awkward though and carrying it in three trips would make more sense. I found the CGEM much much easier to move and setup just because of it's physical shape and better knobs, but the EQ6 isn't all that heavy, I think the head is just under 20kg from memory.

16kg for the head. Lifting and placing on tripod isn;t really a problem, but carrying any distance might be, so, I suggest a trolly to move it any distance if you're worried about the weight.

Peter JJJ has had major abdominal surgery and has a limit or else she does herself a mischief

There are opions to moving an EQ6 around that might help JJJ http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=48852

PS Not meaning to highjack thread; just to provide info for prospective buyer.

Still contemplating....

I reckon you could do it, JJJ. Lose the CW's & it's not too bad but it depends on how far. Lumping it up your stairs is OUT though! Surely they (docs) have stipulated what you can & can't lift?

EDIT: Just saw the 2 strapping lads comment..

Ahh, in that case, I would recommend coming up with a system for getting it in and out of the house. I made a trolley once out of a standard removalist trolley with 3 holes in the base for the tripod feet. It let me drag it out of the shed and halfway across the yard without having to carry it.
I wouldn't want to carry one up and down stairs though.

No way to leave it setup outside under a cover? I eventually ended up leaving mine outside 24/7.
