Yup. I've got more chance of being hit by lightning, though, I think.

I wouldn't buy a super car - where the heck could I drive it enjoyably on a daily basis? But I might lease one for a short while ...

Eventually a winning ticket comes up. No reason it shouldn't be mine.

I doubt my aging body could get in and out of a Lambo or Ferrari. Maybe an Aston which would suit SHMBO.
Also it wouldn't get up the driveway, and if it did I don't have room in the garage. $30M would cover the excavations to put in a new 4+ car garage at street level.
And build a dome into the roof for home.
And another dome up country with full automation and something 26" or so.

Didn't win $70M Oz nor $50M PB recently...but Yes...like the sucker that I am I keep buying tickets in the remote hope, the very very remote, that I may pull in a division 1 win. Trouble is with Saturday's $30M draw is that there will probably be 30 division 1 winners so if you did win your share would only be around $1M.

I could be happy with $1M
I'm with Andrew-my arthritic body could not get in and out of one of those supercars.

if

If i was lucky enough to share in division 1, wouldn't buy a Lambo or Ferrari.
for that kind of money i would rather buy a house or property.

the Lambo or Ferrari depreciates and the house appreciates or only go up in value.

Wow.....a lot here only talk about a ' share ' in this....

I'm dreaming about winning the Lot....and why not...
The Bank Interest alone would buy me the Car....who cares if it depreciates ( @ mr bruess )....the Bank paid for it...and I still got the original Principle sitting there earning more interest...

.... and no...I would not buy a car like this if I only won a Million.....that would be stupid....property investment would be the go...!!

Come on....Dream a bit .....it's my dream and it's free.
It's very likely it won't happen......but I'm in for a shot at it.

It'll be nice but it won't bring you true happiness.

...of course it won't.....no amount of money will.
True happiness is inner contentment of heart and a peaceful one at that.
Material possessions don't either.

Truly ...if I did ' score ' this amount on Sat for myself...I would not keep it for my own ' selfish ' gain.
It would certainly free me up to help an enormous amount of people.....including people on this site who would like to ' own ' their dream Scope...( thanks to Bank Interest )

Read Solomon Chapter 11 ..... then you will understand what sort of person I really am.

But you will share it with me when you win won't you?

Which book are you refering to?
Proverbs 11, Psalms 11, Ecc 11?

AAaaahh So sorry elite members of IIS.

I will be purchasing the one and only winning ticket tomorrow. You people may have a chance at the second division. I may consider some friends' toys if they are nice to me.
Hmm Decisions decisions which 32" scope and dome shall I look at.

Must go and spend some time on making an informed decision

Cheers

And there I was thinking that this was a fantasy, and in the words of Jeremy Clarkson, "Why buy a Ferrari when you could but 5 Mazda MX-5's".

But I have to admit to being biased.

True Phil, but I have heard it also sometimes brings a worse grade of misery.

As far as I can tell, many people who win big have it mostly spent foolishly and are separated/divorced/dead/ill/miserable as a result of living the high life for a year or two.

People who are used to having money in their lives, treat money differently than does your average working class person. Your lower orders don't know how to handle money, and so the result is very often misery.

That said, I'm prepared to chance being a miserable bugger - just this once - and I'm in with a System 8 for about $20

Just my 2c from reading and observation

Quite right you are......the secret is not letting things ' have you ' ...don't let riches/possessions be your Master....I for one don't want to be a ' slave ' to my money....so don't let ' things ' control you.......you take control and be in charge...

I would give most of it away to the ' needy ' children in Society ....why....I was an Orphan at the age of 3 months.....but fortunate to be adopted at 3years old.

' Cast your Bread ( Money ) upon the waters ( people ) for you will find it ( inner contentment ) after many days '. Ecc' C11v1

OK, if you're casting your bread then Flasher, make sure there's a decent westerly blowing, so some of it reaches across the pond to us in the very eastern state. And let us know so I can scoot to the west coast to receive the said bread, I'm in too.
Seasons Greetings to all.
