NGC 2070 Tarantula Nebula

Discovered I didn't have a shot of the Tarantula nebula with my
recently acquired QHY10C OSC camera so grabbed 1.4hrs (21X240sec)
worth to get a feel for exposure timing with it. Worked out well
although as usual, more hours would be better.

Large version here ... WARNING it's 29MB (Found I couldn't squeeze
it down much as the stars got too fuzzy!!)

Looks good - I reckon it could do with a bit more sharpening etc e.g.

It would be interesting to add this camera to the RH200 f/3 and shoot from a dark sky site. I've seen some very impresssive images done with this camera attached to the Tak 180 f/2.8 and Nikon lenses. I see they now have a QHY12!

On the topic, I've seen Tom Davis add OSC shots to his deep illuminance images with outstanding results.

You're right about the sharpening although the grain starts to pop out. More hours would be in order.

J, I'm chewing on using my QHY9M to do luminance and scaling this for the colour. If only the clouds would bugger off!!
