Reflections 'House Of Balenciaga'

This is a photograph of my wife 'Alison' happy as a daisy because on a trip to visit my family in Euskadi I took her to see the house where a famous fashion designer Cristobal Balenciaga was born, now converted into a museum (reflected in her sunglasses).

The house is located in a small town in the province of Gipuzkoa called Getaria.

This town was also home of a famous Basque explorer Juan Sebastian Elcano who completed the first circumnavigation of the earth in 1522.

Had a play around with some of the photos we took on our trip, I really like how this one turned out.

Thanks for looking.

Nice shot. I like the B&W and colour mix.

You had me confused there for a minute, because I was sure it was Magellan, who was Portuguese. Of course, when I looked it up, it was the same voyage - Magellan didn't survive the journey so it was Elcano who finished it.

Me too! and then I learnt ...

And what a voyage, it was riddled with mutiny, wars, evangelism more mutiny and finally the home.

Thanks for your comments
