Parfocal relates to the consistency in thickness. So to be parfocal the filters need to be within a specific accuracy. I forget that accuracy but its pretty fine - a few microns.
Astronomiks must be good that way. Baader are not parfocal despite saying they are and Astrodons are reasonably parfocal - close enough you may not bother with refocusing between filters.
