Aerial Kookaburra

Took this snap of a local Kookaburra on a rooftop TV aerial with my Canon 7D through a Megrez 72 APO refractor. ISO 100 at 1/300 sec.

A nice shot John. I could not see any evidence of CA in what looks to be quite a harsh test of the optics, with the aerial outlined against such a bright, featureless background sky. Looks like a really nice ‘scope.

Focus looks nice and sharp too!

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks.
Kookaburra's make great subjects to photograph as they tend to stay put for a few minutes. I used live view @ 10X to get the focus right. The bird was about 40-50m away so this image is a crop of the full frame against a cloudy sky
