Buying direct from ZWO

I'm looking to buy a 2600MC duo direct from ZWO as I can't find stock in Australia. Was wondering if anyone has had experience buying direct from them and were you charged GST or import costs?

Testar in Sydney is showing one in stock. $2649

ZWO will charge the GST. They have to follow Australian law. Or, they could get the Courier to send you a bill for the GST before they will release it to you.

Bought an AM5 and tripod directly from ZWO a few years ago. Very straight forward and would do it again if needed. I'm not sure if price differences are as competitive as they were. It was on the old website and details have not transferred over to the current one so I can't tell you about GST and I don't remember.
Overseas companies do not have to register for GST if they are under a certain dollar threshold of annual transactions with Australian customers. With these places, you can purchase GST free is you spend under $1000 including courier fees. Over $1000 there will be GST payable regardless either with the seller or courier and possibly a small import fee.

I believe that's old news (Thanks Gerry Harvey, I hope you go broke), even Aliexpress and other online Chinese sites I use these days will add GST to the cheapest purchase. I frequently purchase sub $10 items from various Chinese sellers and get hit with GST every time regardless of seller, maybe that's just my bad luck.
