100 Brightest Planetary Nebula for Southern Observers
Submitted: Tuesday, 4th July 2006 by Paul Mayo
In this article I’ve extracted data from the database of a popular Australian Astronomical software package to produce the following list of the 100 Brightest Planetary Nebula South of 0° Declination. There are two tables, the first table is sorted in order of Magnitude and the second table is sorted in order of Constellation. The Hß Mag. Column lists the Hydrogen-Beta wavelength (4861.3nm) Magnitude of the planetary nebula. Planetary Nebula exhibiting strong emissions in other wavelengths, like Oxygen-III, may infact slightly vary from the Magnitudes in the following list. The 100 Brightest Planetary Nebula South of 0° Declination SORTED BY Hβ Mag.
SORTED BY Constellation.
