can anybody help me with a program that will align but not combine the images as im starting to do layered images to reduce core burnouts :S. but only problem is that photoshop doesn''t do this well and DSS combines the images and does not leave them as seperate images. hope somebody can help.

Registar - It will align, scale, rotate, warp.

Are you able to load up each image in Photoshop as a layer and then adjust the transparency? I know I can do this in The Gimp so I assume something like that would be viable in Photoshop. Is that the kind of thing you are after?

I've not played with any astro images so I might be waaaaay off.

Hi Brendan,
I'm pretty sure dss has a check box to create interim files that are aligned.

I use PPMCentre (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/files.html), great for non tracking scopes to align images before I use Registax. Hope that is what you mean, young in the AP game.

IMHO, I've tried them all. Nothing aligns like registar. Give it a go and compare.
